Our spaces

The Keep

On the second floor of the Castle Keep (the original 'great tower' of the 12th century Castle), the Great Hall is the largest, most atmospheric of the venue's spaces. Capable of hosting 70 guests, and with a large vaulted ceiling and galleries, the room offers amazing acoustics and has been used, amongst other things, for product and album launches, wedding receptions, catered dinners, drinks receptions, pop-up cinema screenings and promenade theatre

The Keep's ground floor Garrison Room, formerly the county jail, is completely accessible thanks to a newly added ramp, handrails and wooden flooring. The medium-sized chamber is perfect for drinks receptions and children’s parties or as a break-out space to your main function.

The Castle’s roof has stunning and commanding panoramic views over Newcastle and the River Tyne, making it perfect for drinks receptions.

The Black Gate

The Black Gate - the Castle's 13th century gatehouse - is open to the public for the first time in nearly 30 years. It houses The Harbottle Suite, a modern, well equipped and airy meeting room with a kitchen, lift and accessible toilets.
