Volunteer

Newcastle Castle is always looking for dedicated volunteers to share their time and talents to enhance and support our work. Our volunteers allow us to offer a wider range of events and present a more inspiring experience for visitors than we would be able to without their help.

So if you would like to meet new people, make new friends and learn new skills while working in one of Newcastle’s most inspiring and iconic sites, please get in touch about volunteering at Newcastle Castle.

We offer a range of different volunteer roles, ranging from public facing roles to helping with back office tasks. Whether you want to help out every week, or just for special events, we’d love to hear from you. Click here to email us to express your interest.

Benefits:

Volunteering can be a great way to build your skills and confidence, as well as being great on your CV! It’s also a good way to meet new people and get involved with your local community and make a positive difference.

You don’t need any special skills to be a volunteer – just a willingness to help out and enthusiasm to promote the heritage of Newcastle! We can offer plenty of training and support for the different roles, so you can develop your skills in a variety of areas and have fun at the same time.

We pay transport costs for volunteers from within Tyne and Wear coming to volunteer at the Castle on public transport, and you also get free access to the Castle with up to two guests (even when you aren’t volunteering!).
