Artwork Exhibition: The Founders

Local artists Angela Russell and Jez Hunt, leather specialist, have created a multi-discipline art exhibit based on the characters of Angela’s fantasy series ‘World of the Fire Cat and the Clowder of Grimalhame’.

Inspired by Celtic, Medieval and Viking art, these paintings and costumes bring her stories to life.

For all fantasy lovers and cat fiends, this is a must see display that captures the imagination and brings fantasy to life.

Location: Black Gate, Museum Room, 3rd floor

Baltic Collaboration - A Joyful Parasite

This newest Baltic flag collaboration is by London-based Spanish artist, saelia aparicio.

Her work dwells on ideas of the organic, establishing analogies between corporeal and social mechanism.

saelia invites us to explore the porous boundaries between inside and outside, host and intruder, human and more-than-human, taking inspiration from the figure of a parasite, both biological and metaphorical. Instead of casting parasites as villains, saelia reimagines them as symbols of resilience, adaptation, and radical coexistence.

Flag, Newcastle Castle Keep.
